When you search for popular beaches in the world, many of the beaches you will come across will be the ones that are located at Hawaii and Florida. However, there are many other family beach vacation spots in the world. One of the lesser known yet marvelous place to enjoy quality time with you family is the Redondo Beach. It is located at Los Angeles County and lies about 9 miles from the Los Angeles International Airport. There are plenty of places to check out at the beach.
The Pier
The Redondo Beach Pier is a great place where you can find plenty of shops and restaurants.
However, the most attractive feature of the Pier is fishing and scintillating seafront esplanade. When you want to go fishing, you can come to the Pier any time you wish because it is open 24 hours a day. You can enjoy sailing at the Pacific Ocean. If you do not enjoy fishing, you can still enjoy the Pier by spending your time at the shopping zone.
Hopkins Wilderness Park
The Hopkins Wilderness Park was originally a very strategic place during the Cold War as it served as a place for missile testing and firing, and Nike radar site. However, the place has been completely changed into a wilderness park for children. You can come here for an overnight camping and picnic. Ducks, turtles and fishes are some of the attractions of this place.
After Sunset
What can you do after you have enjoyed the beach and the magnificent sunset? You can visit the Brixton South Bay to enjoy best of the live music. You can also find the local music bands performing live at various pubs and nightclubs at Redondo. During the peak season, most restaurants at Redondo remain open till the wee hours of the night.
Riviera Village
When you are on the lookout for a quieter and calmer place to enjoy at Redondo, you need to come to the Riviera Village. It is located away from the crowded and busy Hermosa and Manhattan beaches. Previously it was known as the Hollywood Riviera mainly because of the Hollywood celebrities that used to come to here to unwind. However, now it has become more accessible to the locals.
The beaches are quiet and you can enjoy all the water activities like scuba diving and windsurfing. The beautiful esplanade is a wonderful place to witness the sunset. Also, visitors can drive a few blocks away to park their car at the free parking space.
