Magaluf is a magnetic holiday destination on the Spanish island of Majorca which draws thousands of visitors every year. Although Magaluf holidays are considered to be a playground for the grown-ups, there are also plenty of opportunities to have some family fun. Here are the major attractions and activities to indulge in when you are at this beautiful place.
Magaluf – The Resort
The resort mainly consists of a glorious white sandy beach and the infamous Magaluf strip, which has many bars and clubs. Unfortunately, it does receive some negative press about the type of tourists frequenting the area. Any negative talk about the area can surely now be considered as something of the past, as major action has been taken to change the clientele and a substantial investment programme is well under way to modernise and update existing hotels, as well as building new ultra-modern accommodation and attractions.
Investing in the Future
Having some family fun in Magaluf and staying in some really nice hotels is now easy to achieve as the area has undergone a facelift and invested in the future.
In June 2012 the Calvià Beach Resort opened its doors and at around the same time, two water based wave attractions, called FlowBarrel and Flowrider, welcomed its first visitors. If that was not enough, the Nikki Beach Club marked another development as part of substantial investment in the area’s infrastructure that is being rolled out and is likely to continue over the next five years.
Attractions
There are already a number of great attractions in Magaluf that will keep the family well entertained during your stay in the area. Western Water Park, which is located on the outskirts of Magaluf, is based on a Wild West theme and ticks a lot of boxes with a wide variety of water rides, live shows, diving exhibitions and numerous places to eat.
Wave House features the previously mentioned FlowBarrel and FlowRider and Magaluf Beach has a wide variety of water sports available such as underwater diving, jet skiing and even wind surfing, if you are up for the challenge.
House of Katmandu
This attraction is a must for a fun family day out and it also has an educational aspect to it, making learning more fun than ever before. House of Katmandu is essentially an upside down house, which is chock full of games and puzzles, plus a plethora of other things to see including a stunning 4D cinema. To round the day off, don’t forget to take up the challenge of the crazy golf course, which everyone will enjoy.
Dolphin Watching
Another great family activity to do in Magaluf is dolphin watching. You can take a trip out to see the dolphins from a number of different beaches in the area, as well as the nearby Palma Nova. Even the most demanding kids are awe-struck at the sight of these beautiful creatures at such close proximity.
Pirate’s Adventure
At the end of a busy day at a waterpark or just having fun on the beach, the ideal family entertainment for a great night out is a visit to Pirates Adventure. This is a dinner show that will provide a great show whilst you wine and dine in a purpose built theatre in Magaluf.
When you look at the successful efforts being made to attract families to the area and the range of attractions available, you are virtually guaranteed to have a lot of family fun in Magaluf.
