Bondi Beach – The Most Beautiful Beach at North South Wales, Australia

Bondi Beach is a very popular one kilometer long stretch of beach located at New South Wales, Australia. In Australia’s Aboriginal language, the world ‘Bondi’ means the noise created by breaking of water over the rocks. During the months of migration, whales and dolphins can be easily seen here. All thanks to its pristine sands and dazzling ocean waters, every year thousands of people come to visit this beautiful beach.

To reach the Bondi Beach, you need to get down at the Bondi Junction railway station. However, the beach is still 3 kilometers away from the rail station. Then, you can catch a local taxi or bus to reach the beach. It will take around 30 minutes to reach the beach from Bondi Junction. Here are some of the things you should do at Bondi Beach.

Coogee Walk

You can start walking along the 6 kilometers long coastline from Bondi Beach to Coogee. The cool temperature and breeze will set the right mood to enjoy the lengthy walk. Since it will take several hours to complete the entire journey, you need to be prepared well. While you walk along the coastline, you can enjoy various activities like kayaking, sailing and scuba diving.

Surfing

The beach area located at the southern end of Bondi Beach is mainly reserved for surfers. If you do not know surfing, you can visit the surf schools located here to learn and rent surfing boards and swimsuits.

Scuba Diving

The northern end of the Bondi Beach is mainly reserved for people who love scuba diving. There are many shops located here which offers scuba diving gears at low prices.

Swimming

It goes without saying that the ocean is the most attractive feature of the Bondi Beach. Since the waves at the northern area of the beach are gentle throughout the year, it is mainly dedicated for swimming. The northern area has a dedicated rocky pool for children to let the little ones take pleasure in swimming. It is not advisable to swim at the southern end of the beach because of the strong waves. The areas where you should be swimming at the Bondi Beach are marked by flags.

Events

There are several events that are held throughout the year. The kite flying festival is held every year in the month of September. A 2 kilometer swimming race is also held every year. An exhibition of sculpture is held throughout the coastline. Bondi Beach Markets is held every Sunday at 9 am to 3 pm at the Bondi Beach Public School. The Bondi Beach Community Market is held on the weekends from 1pm till late in the evening.
